Did you know that childhood cancer is the #1 cause of death by disease in kids in the US? Childhood cancer research is desperately needed but vastly underfunded and that is why I am committed to this cause. This is my third year being a part of the Prayers from Maria Sunflower Striders team. This is especially important to me because I dedicating this run to a precious little angel named Ella. Ella Rose Fink lost her battle to DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma) on Christmas morning 2020, just 10 months after being diagnosed with this aggressive/inoperable brain tumor. Ella was an energetic 4 year old that loved her parents, her older sister Lilly and the Lord. Just last February, her parents took her to the hospital because she was complaining of headaches. After a few scans she was diagnosed with DIPG. I am raising money for childhood cancer research to help children such this little warrior, Ella.
