Improving literacy makes a big difference in peoples lives by opening up realms of possibilities for them, while increasing their confidence and independence.  I like to facilitate music and creativity based activities as a way to encourage the development of literacy skills. Allowing people to be creative and step out of their bubble in a safe setting, enables them to visualize possibilities they may not have otherwise, helping them to get, and stay motivated while working towards their personal goals.
