My Story…
As many of you know our family has utilized The West Island Cancer Wellness Center’s services (WICWC) in the past.
Cancer can have a profound effect on the lives of those living with the illness and their families, leaving a sense of powerlessness in its wake.
A feeling I am sure too many can now sadly relate to living through the COVID 19 pandemic and all that is and has been happening is our world. Through these trying times, charities like The WICWC have not been able to hold their usual fundraisers, and thus need us more then ever.
Our journey through living with cancer in our family has taught us just how critical support, community, connection, and wellness are. That is why supporting the center is always so important to me.
The WICWC not only helped support us living through a difficult time in our lives, but allowed us to live well, and so importantly helped us to gain a sense of power over our own lives again.
This year I dedicate my walk/run/bike to support those feeling powerless by cancer.
This is my 5th year on the team and so I have decided to challenge myself to complete the 67k which is to be completed by June 14th 1159 EDT. To view my progress click here:

Le Centre de bien-être de l’Ouest-de-l’Île pour les personnes atteintes de cancer est un organisme de bienfaisance enregistré qui se consacre à offrir du soutien et des soins compatissants aux personnes vivant avec le cancer – les personnes atteintes et leurs proches aidants. Il a été créé en réponse à la demande pour une approche holistique du bien-être qui vise à améliorer la santé et le bien-être des personnes qui vivent avec le cancer en répondant à leurs besoins affectifs, physiques et spirituels. Tous nos programmes et nos services sont gratuits et conçus pour combler le besoin pour ce type d’intervention psychosociale et compléter les pratiques médicales traditionnelles. The West Island Cancer Wellness Centre (WICWC) is a registered charity dedicated to offering compassionate care and support to anyone experiencing cancer – either having it themselves or supporting someone with cancer. We exist in response to the demand for a whole-person integrated approach to wellness that focuses on improving the health and well-being of people living with cancer by addressing their emotional, physical and spiritual needs. All our programs and services are free of charge and are created to fulfill the need for Psychosocial cancer care and to complement traditional medical practices.
