My Story…
As some of you know, my mother founded the Theresa Foundation in 2007. Her dream was to raise money here in Canada to support grandmothers in a Malawian village raising their orphaned grandchildren. We began very modestly, but over the years have grown (still modestly) into a foundation that helps to alleviate food insecurity, educates young girls and boys, offer a kindergarten to over 90 children including a protein supplement program, and continues to meet some of the needs of the hundreds of people in the 3 villages we support. The people of Malawi are resilient and extraordinarily resourceful--but Covid 19 of course has made life there, as here, much more challenging than any of us could have imagined.
