Our story…
Since opening our doors in 1980, Discovery House has served thousands of Calgarian women and children fleeing domestic violence.
Discovery House provides transitional housing and care to women and their children fleeing domestic violence. We give women and children longer-term, safe places to call home while they rebuild their lives. Mothers receive counselling, support, and programs to ensure they can build a better future for themselves and their children. A key focus of our work is to help children heal from their trauma to live their best lives. This helps prevent the cycle of domestic violence from repeating.
Discovery House’s mission is to end the traumatic cycle of domestic violence for women and their children.
