My Story…
I've been running 3 days a week since I came back from my deployment with the Canadien Armed Forces to Operation Reassurance in Latvia (Sept 2020). This will be my first official Half Marathon and my team and I will be running it to raise funds for the CHEO Foundation.
The pandemic has been very difficult on everyone but it has been especially hard on children.
Social isolation, removal from school and daily routines, as well as loss of social interaction have all contributed to decrease children's mental health.
A study by SickKids found that 70% of children experienced deterioration of mental health in 1st wave. As we are now in the third wave, we can only assume that that number has gone up.
