My Story…
I am proud to once again be a member of the Waterboys participating in the 2021 Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend. This is the fourth year that the Waterboys, established in honour of my son Corey (age 30) who passed away from Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in 2017, are raising funds for the Canadian Cancer Society. This charity is of particular importance to me as, in addition to Corey, cancer has claimed my father Henry (age 64), my brother Wayne (26) and my sister Nancy (40). My daughter Sarah (31), is about to receive radiation and chemotherapy treatments for the recurrence of breast cancer originally diagnosed in 2018. Sarah is also a proud member of the Waterboys. I also am a survivor of prostate cancer and my mother Anne was a two time breast cancer survivor.
Over the years, my family and I have witnessed first hand the incredible advancements in cancer prevention, detection and treatment. We have benefited from the professional, compassionate care provided to cancer patients and their families by health professionals and support workers. All of this would be impossible without the leading-edge research funded by generous donors.
Please help us obliterate this dreadful disease that has devastated so many families.
Donate to help Peter raise money for Tamarack Ottawa Virtual Race Weekend 2021’s fundraising campaign.
