Why am I fundraising for Rideauwood? I truly believe in the work Rideauwood counsellors do and the approach they take to help people struggling with substance use, behavioural addictions and related mental health issues.
Compassion is at the heart of everything, and clients decide if they would like to take abstinence or a harm reduction approach to their recovery – there is no “right path."
What I find particularly special and unique to Rideauwood is how the organization supports families and parents who have a loved one with an addiction. Whether or not the person with the addiction is ready to seek treatment, family members can.
I’ve interviewed a client who is in recovery, and I was so moved by his strength and resilience. I hope you will join me in helping people in our community reclaim their lives.
Description
Rideauwood Addiction and Family Services is a community-based addiction treatment centre in Ottawa. At Rideauwood, 40 expert and compassionate addictions counsellors support individuals and families impacted by substance use, behavioral addictions and related mental health issues.
