Mon histoire…
Hello Family and Friends
As you know each year I take part in the Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend however this year is a bit different with COVID-19 as we are now running the race virtually. This year I decided to challenge myself with the Bytown challenge which involves a 2K, followed by a 5K and ending with a 10K and am raising money for a local charity that is important to me through the Scotiabank Charity Challenge.
The charity as you know is near and dear to my heart because it is the Camp that my brother Bob attends every year. Bob is developmentally disabled and there are few things that get him very excited and one of them is his chance to attend Camp Misquah for a week every July. Unfortunatley due to COVID-19 - Camp was cancelled this year which was extremely disappointing for my brother.
Camp Misquah and its staff are amazing with all the participants which vary with slight to very severe developmental and physical disabilities and they provide a memorable experience to people with developmental disabilities of all ages. The camp offers superb residential facilities and a highly structured program for children and adults of all levels of ability.
The smiles on all the participants faces say it all when they get off the bus after their week at camp!
Thanks for your support
