Mon histoire…
Howdy, y'all!
My name is Charity. I have FASD. FASD is something you are born with, after your Mom drinks alcohol while she is pregnant. It is a disability that impacts how I speak, how I process sensory information (especially loud noises and textures), how I act when I am excited or anxious, and how I communicate with others.
I love going for walks. I find them really relaxing. You can make walking fun by making up scavenger hunts. I am an outgoing person. You will always find me doing something.
My support staff connected me with ABLE2. ABLE2 helped me become who I am today, a stronger woman who understands my disability now. I do social groups, Zoom talks, the FASD Symposium, and one-on-one support to understand FASD and how it impacts my life.
OCL helps me with my daily life skills. They support me to feel my emotions and use my coping skills. OCL is a support agency for people with developmental disabilities.
