Providing support every step of the way

Sport has shaped me into the person I am today, teaching me hard work, dedication, goal setting, sportsmanship, and creating a sense of belonging and community. I know first hand the value of sport and believe this opportunity should be accessible to every single kid, regardless of financial barriers. 

As a KidSport ambassador, 2016 Olympian, and World Championship medalist in the 50km race walk I am kicking off my training towards the postponed Tokyo 2020 Olympics by teaming up with KidSport BC and Canada Run Series' Camp KM. Camp KM is a fun virtual challenge with runners and walkers working towards their chosen kilometre goals for the month of January. 

My goal is for at least 600km and to get there I need your help. Normally I'd be preparing for the Olympic Games down in the Australian summer training with dozens of fellow race walkers from all over the world, but this year I’ll be putting those 600km in on my own here at home. However, nothing motivates me more than knowing the work I put in can help others. That is why I am aiming to raise $10 for every kilometre I walk in January with the goal of helping KidSport BC support a dozen more kids who will get to learn the same amazing lessons in sport that I've been lucky enough to learn. So please help me kick off my 2021 journey to the Tokyo Olympics in style by supporting KidSport BC.
