We invite you to join the Wainwright Runners, Sunday morning, Sept 18, 2022 at 10:00am for the annual Bison Dash thru the heart of the town of Wainwright. The 5K route is a single loop of road and paved running trails. This course is flat and fast, with a blend of fall views including wetlands and a forested park, the Bevan's Park and Nature Area. This is a perfect route for your 5K personal best with an elevation difference of only 11m. Once again we are offering a kids 2K sub-event and a special $15 discount for U18 in the 5K Run.

The Couch to 5K Program was a great hit last year so it remains a purchase option during the registration process.
Once again we present the Bison Stampede Series. Run or volunteer in both the Bison Run and The Bison Dash you are a winner and will receive a commemorative medal.

We would like to invite all our local 17yrs and younger runners to the Wainwright Runners 5K Bison Dash. We are offering a 15$ discount for all U18yrs runners who register for the 5K Run. The discount will be applied at end of registration process.

If you complete the Bison Run in 2022 and the Bison Dash in 2022 you are a winner and will receive a commemorative medal (the Bison Stampede medal).

COUCH TO 5K -12 WEEK PROGRAM instructed by Clinical Exercise Physiologist Natalie Costa

Back again! COUCH TO 5K PROGRAM. Available for purchase for $20.00 when you register for the Bison Dash or Bison Run.
When you register for either the Bison Dash, you will have the opportunity to purchase a 12-week Couch to 5K Program, created by Clinical Exercise Physiologist, Natalie Costa. The package includes a comprehensive e-manual that goes over the 12 week program, but also has various other topics such as: how to make the program your own, warm-up and cool-downs, strength training, keeping safe and running etiquette, clothing/shoes/accessories, running in the heat/cold, HR training, cross training, and common running injuries and treatments. You will also receive a C25K Graduate T-Shirt at package pickup of your designated run.
There is an already established Wainwright C25K Facebook group where you can join and become accountable with the others (the link to this group will be sent in your Welcome Email package). You will be notified via email and the Facebook group the date of the scheduled group runs (run by various volunteers and members of the Wainwright Runners) if you choose to attend them.

Please wear a mask and follow social distancing protocol.. To help with social distancing please only send one person per family, and picking up packages for friends is encouraged.
For those travelling you can pickup your package the morning of the event on site from 09:00 am-10:15 am.
NOTE: An Adult must accompany kids 12 and under to the race site and must remain on site during the race. Thank You!
The Bison Dash 5K Run/Walk and Kids 2K run will take place on pavement with a mixture of road and walking trails. The start/finish will be on 1st Ave and that section of the road will be closed for the race. The walking trails will not be closed to the public so please be aware there may be other users . All road crossings will have volunteers but please ensure it is safe to cross before doing so. There will be various turns along the route so please look at the map and follow all race markings.
Strollers will be allowed on the course.
Manual timing will be done by Ellis Timing. All participants will receive a time. Results will be printed on-site.

Awards will be presented to the top 3 runners in each category. Awards for the Bison Dash events and the Bison Stampede Awards (TBA) will be presented after all participants have crossed the finish line.

RACE CANCELLATION
Run cancellation: Wainwright Runners reserves the right to cancel the run based on: (1) Extreme weather during the event. (2) Unforeseen circumstances that make directing the race impossible. In the case of cancellation, race entries will not be refunded.
