Our story…

Who We Are

38 Signal Regiment is the communication unit of 38 Canadian Brigade Group part of the Army Reserve of the Canadian Armed Forces. 38 Signal Regiment is headquartered in Winnipeg, Manitoba with Squadrons in:

1 Signal Squadron – Winnipeg, MB

2 Signal Squadron – Regina, SK

3 Signal Squadron – Thunder Bay, ON

4 Signal Squadron – Saskatoon, SK

The Regiment’s mandate is to provide individual and collective support to Canadian Armed Forces operations, whether domestic or international. Many of the unit’s members have served in various UN and NATO missions around the world in addition to the numerous domestic response emergencies such as forest fires and flooding.

The role of 38 Signal Regiment is to provide commanders and staffs within 38 Canadian Brigade Group the means to exercise command and control. Our teams of signallers establish tactical medium and long range radio networks, satellite rear links, local cable networks, commercial network connectivity, and Army computer networks. We also support information management and provide information technology support services. As well, we provide the deployed facilities and services to units and groups from the Brigade for training in combat operations or in readiness for domestic emergencies. This includes transportation in military trucks and trailers, physical security, tents and furniture, electrical power generation and distribution, heating, lighting, and other amenities for sustaining a headquarters facility in austere conditions.

Description

STAND WITH US!

While we are unable to be physically together this year, we are thrilled that the Army Run family will be able to join hands virtually, and run, walk, or roll in support of the Canadian Armed Forces community.

The aviators, sailors, and soldiers of our Canadian Armed Forces wear the maple leaf as a symbol of pride and patriotism on their uniforms as they represent and protect our nation at home and abroad. Their families are the strength behind the uniform as they experience frequent moves, lengthy absences, and the risks of family members serving in physically and mentally demanding and dangerous situations.

Support Our Troops, the official charitable cause of the Canadian Armed Forces, is the beneficiary of the funds raised by Canada Army Run. It was established to meet the unique needs and challenges faced by members of the Canadian Armed Forces community as a result of their military service.

Support Our Troops champions two main objectives, to care of members with physical and/or mental health illness or injury and promoting resiliency in families.

 Your efforts will:

  • support ill and/or injured members in their rehabilitation and recovery through the transformative power of sport, recreation, and creative pursuits with the Soldier On program
  • empower youth to pursue their academic dreams
  • maintain the dignity, independence, and well-being of families during financial hardship
  • send children of military families to camp bringing them a renewed energy and a support network

The funds you raise will ensure that the women and men of the Canadian Armed Forces have access to the financial resources they need when they need them the most. Thank you for being there for our brave and dedicated Canadian Armed Forces women and men who will always be there for us.

Last year, the fundraising efforts of Canada Army Run participants contributed to the positive impact made in the lives of Canadian Armed Forces members and their families.

SOYONS SOLIDAIRES!

  • soutenir la réadaptation et le rétablissement des membres des FAC ayant une maladie et/ou une blessure physique ou mentale grâce au pouvoir transformateur du sport, des loisirs et des activités créatives offertes par Sans limites;
  • habiliter les jeunes à concrétiser leur rêve de poursuivre des études;
  • maintenir la dignité, l’autonomie et le bien-être des familles lors de difficultés financières;
