Our story…
Migraine is a complex neurological disease, for the individuals who have it, the medical professionals who attempt to treat it, and the families who must give the physical, emotional and financial support needed to keep migraineurs in the fight for another day.
Migraine disease is not only battling the chronic pain and neurological side effects, but there are also emotional and psychological consequences to fighting an invisible disability. How can you fight something that cannot be seen? We need help. We need people to see migraine disease.
There are nearly a billion people worldwide afflicted with migraine disease.
Migraine is the 6th most disabling illness in the world.
Every ten seconds someone in the U.S. goes to the emergency room for migraine treatment.
Last year Miles for Migraine raised almost $600,000 for priority research, focused on developing treatment options and, hopefully someday, a cure. Our goal this year is to raise even more, a portion of which will be allocated to fellowship programs centered here in Chicago. I am asking that migraineurs and those in the fight against migraine disease get the help that is needed to battle this neurological disease.
