My Story…

Thank you for checking out my page!

My personal experience with migraine has empowered me to become a thriving patient advocate and caregiver. Migraine has affected my life since birth, as my mother was severely debilitated and spent many days in bed and I was left to care for my younger siblings and working father. I became chronic at age 25, reverted to episodic after my first child, and became chronic again at age forty-five.

I have 3 daughters and 2 inherited migraine. My youngest, Sydney, had to drop out of high school in 11th grade. She did not attend her prom, nor walk at her graduation with her peers. As a parent, watching her live in her dark bedroom for a year was the most devastating event of my life.

You would not know I am in chronic pain with other disabling symptoms because migraine is invisible. And therein lies one reason for the stigma that I face, along with others I know.

No donation is too small! We need more research for this disease.
