My Story…
Staying at the Ronald McDonald house in London while Steven was hospitalized was immensely helpful. Steven was born prematurely with severe hydronephrosis and hydroureters. I was fortunate enough to be able to stay there when Steven was born until he recovered from a major surgery a few weeks later.
Having a place to call home for those few weeks made everything easier. When your child is medically fragile and hospitalized you often forget to take care of yourself. The staff and volunteers were always checking on us. They would remind me to eat after a long day. They took care of me so I could take care of Steven. There was a comfortable place to sleep, shower and have a real meal. I could never truly express how grateful I am to have had the ability to stay there.
