My Story…
A few years ago we had a foster child in our home that we rushed to the emergency department. This time, she cut too deep. While we were at the hospital, I asked the doctor if they had any resources available that he could recommend for us, that could help her. He looked at me with a blank stare and said, "I'm sorry, we don't."
I (Nancy) was reminded when I was 15 and pregnant. Both of my parents we alcoholics and I was alone. As I look back 32 years, I wonder how my life would have been different had I had a healthy support system come beside me like TreeHouse.
The quote: "Be the kind of person you needed when you were younger" came to my mind.
About a year ago we opened a TreeHouse. We are a place of hope and healing. We provide a safe place that allows teens the opportunity to offer one another support. Each teen that enters through our door has a different need. They may be desperate and need hope. They may need help setting healthy boundaries in relationships. Perhaps they need a place to belong, to fit in. Some come for a hot meal and this is the one night a week that they aren't alone.
We need people like you to come alongside St. Peter TH, so we can continue to provide a safe place for teens. Thank you, for your financial support!
