My Story…
Mental wellness- especially in the lives of teens- is near and dear to me. Having struggled as a teen myself I know first hand the importance of having safe people to process your pain...through mentorship, peer support groups and community.
Being a mom of teens I know the struggle is real. As much as I love my boys I’m not always the answer. They need other strong loving adults to pour into them.
That’s why I’m taking the #thpathtohope challenge. I’m walking 50 miles in the month of June to raise awareness and financial support for the Brooklyn Park TreeHouse.
These teens have had a year beyond comprehension and I’m walking for them. To support programs that remind them that they are lovable capable and worthwhile.
To push myself to remember with deep gratitude my own redemption story. The adults that spoke truth into my life when I forgot who I was. The first responder who scooped me off my floor and brought me to the ambulance while praying over me. My spiritual mentor who held my hand in the hospital praying for my body to fight. Gratitude for family and friends that rallied around me to restore my confidence and change the trajectory of my story.
Teens need hope. Teens need people that believe in them. That’s why I’m walking the path to hope.
My goal is to raise $5,000. Please consider sponsoring me through this journey. Thank you friends.
