Our Story
Bridging Independent Living Together, Inc. (BILT, Inc) was created in 2019 by Founder Christina Gravina, after she worked in the field for many years and noticed a lack of qualified professionals available to work in home or in the community with individuals diagnosed with differing abilities. Often families are left to hire caregivers who may not be reliable or have the proper training. We knew we could do it better.
We created BILT, Inc. with a view that services need to be flexible, supportive, inovative, implemented by trained professionals and include a team approach for achieving the individual's goals. We work to take the stress off of families by finding, hiring and supervising employees. We handle replacing staff, call outs, and building programs; so the families just need to tell us the hours they would like, goals they would like to be worked on and we will do the rest!
All of our employees receive extensive training, supervision, support and pay that reflects the important jobs that they do. This results in happy, qualified employees who are ready to work with the individuals we serve to help them in reaching their goals.
We offer 1:1 skill building services for individuals beginning at age 4, all the way up too and including adulthood. We also offer caregiving services, job coaching, social peer groups and lifestyle assistance programs (where we assist individuals living independently by themself, in college or with others in the community).
We also offer a variety of workshops for other organizations and families interested including CPR/FA, Boundary/consent training, how to implement positive behavioral support strategies, etc. We are always happy to collaborate with other organizations for community partners.
We are raising these funds to be able to continue to offer quality services in the community, our ultimate hope is to be able to purchase a wheelchair van to be able to serve a larger population of individuals.
BILT, Inc is currently hiring and accepting volunteers for those who may be interested. Please visit www.biltne.org , you can find us on social media at www.facebook.com/biltinc and www.instagram.com/biltinc
Together, we are stronger than ever and can work together to support individuals of all abilities. #biltlikethis
Description
Help our team reach our goal for the 2021 Flutie 5k for Autism: Dougie's Epic Adventure, to raise critical funds for the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism to help people and families affected by autism live life to the fullest!
Former NFL Quarterback, Doug Flutie, and his wife Laurie started the Doug Flutie, Jr. Flutie Foundation for Autism in 1998 after their son, Dougie, was diagnosed with autism at the age of three. Their personal experience of raising a son on the autism spectrum inspired them to help others on an equally long and challenging journey. Over its 23-year history, the Flutie Foundation has distributed over $15 million to partner schools and organizations who provide clinical therapies, respite services, recreational programs, social skills training, job supports and more for people and families affected by autism. The Flutie Foundation also provides direct financial support to families through initiatives like education technology tools, adaptive camp scholarships, safety equipment, to provide immediate help where it's needed the most.
