Raise money for The National Ballet of Canada
Founded in 1951, The National Ballet of Canada is one of the top international ballet companies with over 70 dancers and its own orchestra. The company performs traditional full-length classics, embraces contemporary work, and encourages the creation of new ballets with diverse Canadian choreographers.
The National Ballet of Canada is proud to be an official charity partner in the Scotiabank Charity Challenge 2021. Funds raised through the Scotiabank Charity Challenge will be directed towards the National Ballet's Education and Community Engagement initiatives.
The National Ballet is committed to education and community engagement for families and youth who may not otherwise experience the joys of ballet. The company has a wide range of age-appropriate programmes designed to engage with schools and children in the GTA and communities across Canada. YOU dance, the National Ballet’s signature programme, is designed to introduce students in grades four, five and six to the world of dance through FREE workshops and performances.
Join us in raising funds for our Education and Community Engagement programme. Our exciting programmes are designed to be accessible to everyone so that Canadians can experience the physical, emotional and social benefits of dance.
Thank you for your support!
"Children and youth have been deeply affected by the pandemic with past school closures, the loss of extracurricular activities, limitations on social gatherings and persistent uncertainty. Engaging these young through the arts can help them process their experiences and find much-needed joy and connection.
Throughout the pandemic, I began running and have fallen in love with it. I am very excited to run my first Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront's half marathon. We are so excited to once again inspire, empower and connect through dance with children, youth and our communities as we move forward. Thank you for making this possible to deliver more programming to communities across Canada this season!"
