My Story…
As some of you know, my sister Natalie was diagnosed in April with leukemia (AML). She has undergone one round of chemo and unfortunately some of the cancer cells are still present so she will have to do some more treatments. My sister is one of the most thoughtful people I know, always doing things for others. I chose to run this half marathon to support her fight and to raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Even though there have been great advances in the study of leukemia, because there are so many different types of leukemia and blood disorders, some still need to be researched more, especially in those more complicated cases, like in Nat's case. I would love for you to help support this cause by joining my team for the half marathon, 10k, 5k or even the full marathon if you're feeling extra ambitious! If that's not your thing, please support me by making a donation.
Description
Did you know:
That an estimated 128,000 people are affected by blood cancers in Canada?
That someone is diagnosed every 23 minutes?
And that every 72 minutes someone will die?
I want to do my part to help change these statistics.
Unfortunately, too many of us have had cancer touch our lives and we all want to know how we can help loved ones who are battling cancer. We’re not all doctors or researchers, but we can all do our part to help.
