My Story…
I'm participating in the Scotiabank Charity Challenge, on behalf of the Canadian Children's Book Centre because I believe kids need to read Canadian books, but also need to meet the authors and illustrators who create them! Funds raised for the Book Centre will go towards programming such as Children's Book Week (authors and illustrators visit with school kids across the country), various Book Awards that celebrate the best kids books each year, and many other important programs. Visit bookcentre.ca for more information.
Description
The Canadian Children’s Book Centre (CCBC)connects kids to Canadian books across the country. Our awards, publications and programs strive to break down barriers so creators can write more books and kids can hear more Canadian stories. Evidence shows that exposure to books can make kids more confident readers, can help kids improve their math and reading proficiency and can help develop more empathy in kids by increasing their own cultural awareness through stories. You can register individually or organize a team for a chance to win a CCBC membership and prizes such as; mugs, totes and copies of Canadian children’s books.
