I am really excited to be participating in the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon to help raise funds for my organization, North York Community House (NYCH).
NYCH has been serving the residents of southwest North York for over 30 years, working with new Canadians and community residents to provide resources and opportunities, to assist and support the achievement of their goals.
I am looking forward to participating and sharing in this experience with NYCH’s staff, clients, and volunteers in raising funds for community programming. I hope that you will join me in supporting NYCH by making a pledge to my page.
Thank you for your support.
Newcomers and their families face numerous barriers to starting their new lives here in Canada. Your kindness will create opportunities for them to settle successfully, thrive in their new settings and become leaders in the community.
Every year, over 17,000 people come through our doors to access the programs and services we offer. Through generous donations like yours, new immigrants and refugees will receive free, one-on-one settlement help; immigrant professionals will develop their skills for workplace success; newcomer youth will feel more welcome in their new schools; families in under-resourced neighbourhoods will be encouraged to get active and stay healthy.
All funds raised by NYCH through the 2021 Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon will support innovative children, youth, and family programs – providing opportunities for residents in northwest Toronto to gain confidence, build skills, and lead positive change in their neighbourhoods.
