I am running in memory of Madeline and in support of youth mental health and the Maddie Project (www.themaddieproject.ca)
The Maddie Project is a community effort in support of youth struggling with depression and other mental health related concerns. Driven by community collaboration and events, the project’s goals are to raise awareness by sparking conversations about youth depression and mental health concerns as well as to help provide uninhibited access to support for youth and their families.
To date the Maddie Project has raised over $3 million to enhance youth mental health services with partners across Canada.
Each Fall, we come together with our community to run and raise awareness in our purple Shinebright shirts to do all and anything that we can do to help.
The COVID-19 pandemic has amplified the mental health crisis for children and youth, and a recent survey revealed that nearly two- thirds of youth felt that their mental health had gotten worse since the beginning of the public health crisis.
All the funds raised through this run and your generous support will be in support of a renewed Paediatric Mental Health Inpatient Unit at North York General Hospital.
Help us make a difference and support youth mental health!
At North York General Foundation, we are dedicated to supporting exceptional health care at North York General Hospital (NYGH). Our donors are our key partners in this, and we are grateful that you have chosen to stand with us to make a world of difference in the many communities we serve. Your support will help us change the landscape of mental health care in Canada. Every dollar you give will have an impact. It’s no coincidence that for the third year in a row, Newsweek has recognized our high standard of care by naming us as the #1 Community Academic Hospital in Canada and among the top 100 in the world. We couldn’t do it without you. Please, donate today!
