My Story…
If you are like me, you read about refugees, conflict, and persecution and feel overwhelmed with the scope of suffering. Supporting refugees at Matthew House is something practical you can do today that will give a refugee a bed, a meal, and a community of friends.
If you are like me, your family came to Canada from somewhere else and when they arrived in Canada, someone welcomed them. Newcomers- especially refugees- need good neighbours like the Matthew House community.
If you are like me, COVID-19 has given you lots of time to think about what is important. Donate to my run and know that you and I are choosing to make a difference. With your donation you are welcoming a refugee who would otherwise be alone and without housing in a strange land.

Description
Matthew House is a community of homes that welcome, shelter and assist newly arrived refugee claimants in Toronto. Our desire is to restore refugee's dignity and hope by providing emotional and physical support in a homelike setting to help them heal from their journey and establish new lives in Canada. When we run for Matthew House, we send a message that says "my Toronto is your Toronto" for vulnerable newcomers like refugees. Join our team and help transform the lives of newly-arrived refugees.
