Please support me as I will be running the virtual Scotiabank marathon again in honour of my late wife Erin.
Gilda's Club Greater Toronto has been amazing at providing support to my son Emerson and myself during this difficult time from providing support groups, to events such as the holiday party or camp in the city for Emerson. It has been extremely difficult, especially during Covid and all of the isolation and lockdowns. However Gilda's has been amazing at providing virtual events, and continuing to support their members and creating a sense of a community for when things became difficult.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us, and Gilda's Club over these last 2 years. Emerson and I appreciate every one of you :)
Description
Please support me as I participate in the Scotiabank Waterfront Run for Gilda's Club Greater Toronto who provides cancer support programs free of charge to adults, teens/children as well as their families who are experiencing cancer-related stress. Due to COVID-19, there has never been a more significant time to donate. This year’s event is crucial as those impacted by cancer need Gilda's Club now more than ever. Registrations for programs have increased by 59% since the onset of COVID-19. This pandemic, the forced isolation and extraordinary uncertainties have had a tremendous impact on Gilda's Club members who are living with and experiencing cancer related stress. By donating you will make it possible for cancer patients and their families to access and receive the support they need to relieve stress, reduce isolation & provide resources to help them through this increasingly difficult time. Funds raised will maintain the cancer support groups/programs as their team of licensed health professionals have modified these programs to virtual platforms. Thanks for helping to ensure that no one has to face cancer alone.
