My Story…
I've been singing with the Toronto Chamber Choir for more than thirty years! It's important to me and it has a special place in the early music soundscape in the city. It, like all performing arts organizations, was more or less silenced by COVID-19. Your support will invigorate the Toronto Chamber Choir, the professional conductor and professional singers, and the arts in general. This is an important part of the recovery and revitalization.
Description
The Toronto Chamber Choir is a 40 voice amateur choir with a reputation for high quality, historically informed performances of Renaissance and Baroque music. Our Artistic Director, Lucas Harris has led us in exploring the rich cultural diversity of Toronto, and connected our music with topics ranging from architecture, cultural exchanges with China, the music of Moorish Spain, the medieval theory of humours, and the history and work of woman composers through the ages. The choir is also active in training young musicians from the Rosedale School of the Arts, and in providing performance opportunities for emerging professional musicians in Toronto.
