My Story…
I am participating in the Scotia Waterfront Marathon again this year to raise money for the Glaucoma Research Society of Canada ("GRSC"). Last year, the event could be held only virtually because of Covid-19. This year, the "in person" event was held last Sunday for those who wanted to run or walk the usual course. Others are participating virtually at various times throughout the month. I will be walking a separate 5 km route on Sunday, October 24 with a group of other volunteers on behalf of GRSC.
Glaucoma is an insidious eye disease that affects over 400,000 people in Canada, many of whom do not realize they are afflicted. GRSC raises funds to make grants for research into the causes of, treatment of and, ideally one day, a cure for glaucoma. Since its inception in 1989, GRSC has raised over $5 million for research.
I am a director and the president of GRSC , have glaucoma and have a personal interest in continuing the research that GRSC sponsors.
Description

The board is dedicated to limiting administrative costs to ensure as much revenue is put forward for research as possible. Please help us as we work to find a cure!
