Our story…
When Ellie was diagnosed as severely to profoundly deaf our world crumbled. IL Hands & Voices and the amazing services they provide helped us to rebuild. Their programs allowed us to learn more about hearing loss, communication options, assistive technology, and seek support from fellow parents who are also on this journey and that support has been invaluable.
Our Ellie had made amazing strides in the last two years! Despite not being able to hear for her first year of life, she has caught up to her chronological age and will be starting preschool in the fall. She sings, dances, loves music, enjoys playing with her sister and her friends down the street. She’s tough, resilient, has a smile that lights up a room, and an outgoing personality that warms hearts.
