Our story…
By the age of 3 we discovered that our daughter Lynette suffered from profound sensorineural unilateral hearing loss. This condition has rendered her incapable of processing any sounds from one ear. Lynette, who already suffers from a rare form of juvenile arthritis called TRAPS, was dealt another blow and our family began a search for help and answers. Thankfully, we caught it early and were able to find resources like “Illinois Hands & Voices Guide By Your Side” to help with this new challenge. This organization has played an instrumental role giving us access to a wealth of information that helped us keep Lynette’s educational development on track. The Hernandez family has since focused our philanthropy in their support.
