My Story…
We are so fortunate to have Charlie here with us celebrating his second birthday this month! He is hilarious, observant, curious and loving! We can’t imagine our lives without him! We have decided to make a tradition of donating to ICP Care in his honor each year for his birthday.
In honor of Charlie’s safe arrival 2 years ago and June being ICP awareness month I am participating in the virtual run/walk to raise money for ICP Care to work towards finding more treatments, funding research and finding a cure for ICP. Currently the only cure is delivery and keeping the baby safe usually requires early induction or cesarean. We were so lucky to have an OBGYN who heard us when we advocated for induction at 36-weeks which research has shown is before the risk of still-birth or intrauterine demise begins to exceed the risks of early delivery. Unfortunately, this is still not standard of care in the US and tragic losses continue to occur each year.
