Help Kristy raise money

Hey everyone... I'm participating in a walk/run for Camp Wendake, a organization that is very special to me.

I've volunteered at the camp as a staff member for 3 seasons so far.  My hope is to raise $500 for this incredible place.  I've met many amazing individuals through Camp Wendake, and going into the 25th camp... I feel this is an amazing opportunity for us to come together as a community, and support this worthwhile cause.

For those needing some more information on the camp:

Camp Wendake is a one-week retreat camp located just outside of Bayfield, for children and adults living with HIV/AIDS and their primary care givers. This camp gives those infected and affected by this disease a chance to be in a supportive environment with peers facing similar challenges in their daily lives. Camp Wendake promotes spiritual healing, physical well-being, and a chance for social interaction, which many people living with HIV/AIDS do not otherwise have. The camp welcomes approximately 80 campers and another 40 volunteers from across Ontario. Operational costs for the weeklong retreat are approximately $40,000, covering everything from meals to transportation. We rely on private and corporate donations to cover all these costs as we have no government funding.

COVID-19 has had a devastating impact in the lives of so many, and in particular those with compromised immune systems, and underlying health issues. As a camp community we are hopeful that we will finally be able to celebrate once again in 2022, as we have been unable to gather for the last 2 seasons. Camp Wendake will be celebrating its milestone 25^th camp next year, it has provided more than 2000 participants with an opportunity to be in “a place set apart”. Camp Wendake is staffed and governed entirely by community volunteers.
