My Story…
I am excited to again support Jenn and her foundation. Prosthetics are expensive and not everyone has insurance or their insurance will cover the cost of legs for running. The average running leg is over $20,000. Prior to being seen at Walter Reed I would have never had the chance to have a running leg. I know what a privilege it is to have this gift of mobility and I don't plan to waste it. I want to help those who cannot afford a running leg. The Move for Jenn foundation is making that happen. Check out the Move for Jenn Website (https://moveforjenn.org) to see all of the amputees they have helped. In addition the foundation is helping with Sarcoma research!
Come join me either in VA to run as a group or virtually!
Cancer affected my life at the age of 15 with the diagnosis of Malignant Fibrous Histiocytoma, a soft tissue sarcoma. My right leg was amputated below the knee and I went through months of intensive high dose chemotherapy. I beat the odds and am here to share my story and support others. I heard of Jenn's story and movement and am so excited to help raise money to continue sarcoma research (15-20% of childhood cancers are sarcomas) and to allow other amputees to experience activity again with the funding of prosthetics made for movement (these prosthetics range from $5,000-$50,000 and need replaced every five years).
