As many of you know, I had a difficult 2020. The best cat in the world, my sweet Momo, lost her battle to lymphoma. It wrecked me. I had been fostering and volunteering with rescues for years, but Momo stole my heart. I wasn't prepared for her to pass at only two years old. 

I immediately decided that I had to do more. I had always wanted to work with animals full time, but I imagined it would happen when I had made my money and had land. But why wait?

I left my six figure job and started volunteering at rescues. After 6 months of looking for a marketing and development position, I almost gave up. Then I found the Humane Society of Weld County.

I wanted to find a rescue that held my ideals - Every animal is important, felvie cats are worth saving, services to the public is how we end the cycle.

From the team's dedication to the sheer amount of animals that enter our doors, HSWC surprises me each day. I am honored to help however I can.
