Our story…
December marks 3 years since Zeila found out her wish was being granted. Earlier that year she was diagnosed with lupus nephritis which landed her in the hospital for over a month. She faced many challenges since that diagnosis and our family's world was thrown upside down for a while. Make A Wish Hawaii was there right in the thick of it and showered us with positivity and joy.
We continue to manage Zeila's condition with monthly doctor visits and daily medications and Make A Wish Hawaii is still a part of our journey. We look back on her wish trip all the time and we're reminded how far she's come. The Make A Wish Hawaii community continues to inspire and comfort us. Not just because it's made up of families who fight similar fights as us but because it's also made up of compassionate people who walk alongside those families and ask for nothing in return.
