Please help me in raising money for Gilda’s Club of Greater Toronto

Four years ago, I spent my first summer in Toronto training for the Waterfront half marathon. Little did I know that by the time October came around that year, I would be getting myself ready for chemotherapy instead of the starting line.

Cancer took my first half marathon away from me. It sucked. But I survived, and I owe part of that to Gilda’s Club of Toronto. 

Gilda’s club is the most special place. It provides free programming for folks living with cancer and their loved ones. Being new to Toronto and dealing with cancer was often lonely. But I found myself at Gilda’s club most days during that time. I participated in a writing through cancer program, a support group for young adults, went to comedy nights, and restorative yoga. 

Obviously, I owe so much of my survival to the hospital and the amazing healthcare I received here in Toronto. But it’s Gilda’s Club that saved me mentally. It fosters such a supportive community and brings in so many experts for classes, workshops, support groups, community meal nights, and so much more. All that wouldn’t be possible without generous donations and community support.

Please help me in raising money for this very special place that helped me get through my cancer journey in 2018-2019. I can’t think of a better way to do it than by taking back the race that cancer once took. Your money would go toward helping people of all ages and their family in getting though some very dark days.
