This year I am doing the 5K to support refugee initiatives at North York Community House (NYCH)

This is my 5th year walking and coordinating fundraising efforts at NYCH.

I know what it’s like to pack up your whole life into two suitcases and travel halfway across the world, leaving everything and everyone you’ve ever known and loved to build a new life. I cannot imagine what it must be like to have to be forced to do it. 

The courage of community members, the unwavering committement of our staff, and the unrelenting hope for a future where all belong and thrive keeps me going in a world that too often feels like it will never heal.
