My Story…
Beyond the obvious physical health benefits of running, a key motivation for me is about the maintenance of my mental health. It’s only in the last few years that I was able to make the connection that running allows me to de-stress and achieve better clarity of thought - not to mention, offers a nice dopamine rush.
Mental health is something that we all struggle with to varying degrees and it’s often overlooked as something that needs to be “trained” or “maintained” like we do our muscles.
For this race, I am undertaking my first half marathon in under 90 mins and am fundraising for CAMH in support of mental health. Any donation that you can muster is going to a great cause and hitting my fundraising goal might just give me the motivation to hit my running goal, too.
