My Story…
Dear Friends, Family and Allies,
Help me raise the much needed funds for ACAS and Ontario Positive Asians (OPA+) to support Asians living with and affected by HIV/AIDS <3
For the past decade, I have ran at the Toronto Waterfront Marathon, Half Marathon and 5k Charity Challenge to support Asian Community AIDS Services (ACAS) and Ontario Positive Asians (OPA+) to support Asians living with and affected by #HIV/#AIDS and members of the 2SLGBTIQ+ communities, including Queer and Trans Asian Youth.
This year, I #ChooseToRun and am once again asking you again to support me in this meaningful race. Please support me now in reaching my $800 goal for this important cause NOW!
While the COVID-19 global pandemic had impacted large gatherings and events such as #TOWaterfront42K in the past two years in how runners could take part in the event, I am excited to join my chosen ACAS/OPA+ family members of friends, colleagues, and allies to complete the race in person!
As a #Queer#Poz #Asian settler living with HIV with an undetectable viral load, I am passionate in promoting the message of Undetectable=Untransmittable (U=U) locally and globally so everyone knows that people living with HIV on effective treatment #CantPassItOn sexually to others. ACAS has served as a home away from home for me as I worked and supported building the capacities of members of my community in helping to #EndingHIVinCanada.
I was also grateful to have co-founded OPA+, an independent network for and by Asians living with HIV with my fellow Poz Asian peers so we can have a culturally-safe space that honours our living experiences and expertise through peer-led programming. This year, I would like to honour and memorialize the late, beloved OPA+ Co-founder Derek Yee who passed away in a most unfortunate circumstance.
Derek's death serves as a testimony that Poz #BIPOC people living in the community need to continue challenging structural and systemic racism an injustices and institutional policies which prevent service access to our community members. You can help make a difference by making a donation to help me reach my fundraising $800 goal NOW!!
As I continue my current journey as a Senior Global Community Advisor at Prevention Access Campaign, a North American representative on the NGO Delegation to the UNAIDS Programme Coordinating Board, and a CIHR Vanier Scholar, I will commit to applying what I have accrued my past decade through what I have learned from being a member of the ACAS and OPA+ communities in strengthening #BIPOC solidarity against HIV/AIDS, #TB, and #Malaria, and in advocating for the rights of key priority populations and vulnerable communities to #EndInequalities, #EndAIDS, #EndPademics.
All donations over CAD$20 will receive an electronic tax receipt. Please take a moment to join me in making a difference by donating through the secure, online donation platform here NOW!!!
Thank you very much in advance for your love, encouragement, allyship and support!
