My Story…
My mother, Else Brownlee, was one of the strongest people I have ever known. When she was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease, she never let it stop her from doing what she wanted to do. She never complained. She still wanted to travel, dance, go shoe shopping, go out to eat and visit with her girlfriends. PD, however, eventually slowed her down and finally stopped her. Minutes before I got the call that she had passed away, I saw a double rainbow, and I asked her “Mom, is that you?” I know that it was her. So, when I started running a few years ago and learned that there was a fundraiser for the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center, I knew that I had to support it. I run in honor of Else. I raise money for others like her.
