Help Janice raise money

For my entire life I have lived with Ulcerative Colitis and thought that I was living a 'normal' life.  Boy, was I wrong!  A few years ago I had Ileoanal anastomosis surgery (J-pouch surgery) at Mount Sinai Hospital and slowly, my journey to good health began. 

Since my surgery and recovery, I have taken up running and in 2019 I ran my first Half Marathon (21.1k) at the Mississauga Marathon.  At the very last minute I had the great good fortune to join team Guts to Run, a running group that is raising awareness and funds for Crohn's and Colitis Canada.

Last year, thanks to COVID all in person races were cancelled but nothing was going to stop me, not even a global pandemic!  With a few close run buddies, a small but enthusiastic cheer squad and the support of my friends and family, I ran my first full Marathon (42.2k) to support Team Guts to Run and raise some money for Crohn's and Colitis Canada.

This year, in person races are back and I couldn't be more excited to put on my spiffy new team shirt, lace up my running shoes, do another Half in Mississauga and raise awareness for Crohn's and Colitis.

I am thankful to be living in a healthy body and to be able to use it to support other UC and Crohn's sufferers.  My hope is that some day, they too many know what living in a healthy body feels like.
