Why I support The Pittsburgh Project
On April 30th and May 1st, my family will be participating in The Pittsburgh Marathon's race weekend activities. P3R wrote a fun story about our family on this blog post; check it out to learn a little more about us. My wife Danitra and I will participate in the Pittsburgh Marathon Relay with other staff and friends of The Pittsburgh Project. Alana and I will be running the 1-mile Kids Marathon, and Elijah will be running the Toddler Trot.
We are running to raise funds for The Pittsburgh Project; I am the Executive Director of TPP, so I am partial to the work that we do, but I am excited to run on behalf of the organization and have another opportunity to share about some of the awesome work that we do on the Northside of Pittsburgh. I'm excited to train with my family over the next few months and excited for all of the other runners who will be running with me!
I am not much of a runner, but I get excited about this race every year, and I hope you'll donate to support TPP and to encourage me; I need every bit of encouragement that I can get to get through the race :)!
Description
The Pittsburgh Project strives to care for people by sharing hope, empowering youth and building community. We have served the residents of the Northside for the past 36 years. We offer unique educational opportunities for children and youth K-12 grades, through summer camps and after school programs. We assist community residents through partnerships with the URA and local church groups. Thank you for partnering with us to "Run for a Reason"!
