My Story…
Multiple sclerosis is a relatively rare disease that impacts the brain and spinal cord which make up the central nervous system and controls everything we do. The exact cause of MS is unknown, but we do know that something triggers the immune system to attack the brain and spinal cord. The resulting damage to myelin, the protective layer insulating wire-like nerve fibers, disrupts signals to and from the brain.
My mom has lived with MS for my entire life and I am hoping to raise money and awareness for this cause, while I push myself to do something I've never done! I have never ran more than a 5k and I know it sounds crazy, but I think I can finish a half marathon. My inspiration for running is to raise awareness for MS and raise money for MS research.
