Help Amy raise money

My dad was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia last May -- watching him suffer, my mom suffer, our family suffer has been devastating. 

There is currently no medicine to treat dementia and no options to try to beat dementia-- there are simply ways to manage the disease and hope to prolong the life of someone diagnosed. We know so little about the medical cause of dementia, but I now know so much about how destructive it can be. 

I also have learned how necessary it is to have a support system when a loved one is diagnosed. Seeing my dad fight through this has been the most difficult thing I've dealt with in my life. And I know I could not do it alone. 

So I'm running this race for two reasons:

1) To raise awareness of all forms of dementia and raise funds specifically for the Alzheimer's Association of Greater Pennsylvania, and

2) To lean into my support system and push myself to do something that feels near impossible right now.

Lewy Body Dementia is hard.

Running a half marathon is hard. 

But when you do things together, it's a little bit easier.
