My Story…
Hey Friends and Fam,
The Magee-Women's Research Institute & Foundation is a first class leader in research that informs women's healthcare. Working at Carlow University, influenced by the Sisters of Mercy who instill a particular concern for women (and women's health), I remain ever aware that funding for research that focuses on improving women's life experience is inequitable. I recently heard a researcher studying the root causes for migraines (which predominantly impact women) note that if this were a man's issue we would likely better understand how to reduce the impacts. My purpose for running is to contribute to diminishing the funding gap in some small way. For those women in your life, please consider a contribution to the Magee-Women's Research Institute & Foundation.
