My Story…
Hi everyone! As most of you know, I am a teacher in the Pittsburgh area. I have seen first hand how children with an unstable home life, whether they are hopping from home to home, not knowing where they are going to sleep each night, or if they are even going to have anywhere to sleep the next night affect these kiddos. It is heartbreaking to see how a child's potential can be harmed by something completely out of their control.
The Homeless Children's Education Fund's mission is to "advance the education of children and youth experiencing homelessness in Southwestern PA, guiding them to be productive, empowered citizens."
In the 2018-19 school year, 3,451 children and youths were identified as experiencing homelessness.

Description
Donate to help raise money for Homeless Children's Education Fund (HCEF) during Marathon Weekend. Your donation helps students break the cycle of homelessness through educational achievement. HCEF provides programming for students in kindergarten to age 24. Programming includes afterschool, tutoring support, social and emotional regulation, college and career prep, as well as enrichment, emergency funding and educational grants.
