Help seresa raise money

For participating in 2022 DICK'S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon Weekend

My Story…

Elijah is my “why” for running this marathon. He was diagnosed with Autism when he was three years old. To know Elijah is to know determination, a love of everything Mario, and a smile that can melt your heart when he shows it to you!

Since the age of two, he has been in constant therapy. Talking, basic social interactions, a crowded store, a change in routine all do not come easy for him. But he never gives up trying, working and learning. Every mile of my training, I think of him and remember this journey with Autism is a marathon not a sprint and I am so blessed that God allowed me to be his mom as he runs this race.

I want to further Autism research, further education materials for schools, help new families who are starting this journey, and support adults with Autism. Organization for Autism Research (OAR) does all of this.

Thanks for your support whether it is a donation, prayers, or just spending a few minutes to learn more about Autism.

Please help support me by making a contribution to my fundraiser and sharing this page with your family and friends. Every dollar I raise will advance the Organization for Autism Research's great cause!

WHY RUN FOR AUTISM?
1 in 54 children in the U.S. is diagnosed with autism. By joining the RUN FOR AUTISM team, you’re supporting OAR’s mission to fund research and resources that help people with autism and their families today.

Here are some of the ways that OAR uses the funds raised by the RUN FOR AUTISM team:

$10 - provides a Curriculum in a Box professional development sent to general education teachers.
$25 - provides 15 copies of A Guide to Safety to families and first responders.
$100 - provides the Kit for Kids peer education resource to an entire elementary or middle school.
$150 - provides 100 copies of a Life Journey through Autism guidebook sent to a community support group or military installation.
$1,000 - provides a research grant for a graduate student studying autism.
$3,000 - provides a scholarship for a student with autism to attend college.
$40,000 - fully underwrites an applied research pilot study
.
