Help David raise money

My son, Joshua Metzger, passed away in December 2008 at the age of 8.  He was diagnosed with DIPG,  a brain stem cancer, in October of 2008.  Before that, he was a very healthy and active young man.  Josh enjoyed playing sports, watching movies, riding his bike, amusement parks, and many other things that a healthy 8 year old enjoys.  

I learned about Prayers from Maria in 2013, when I was training for my first marathon.   I had never known much about DIPG, and found a loving group of families that had also lost children to this disease.  Prayers from Maria's main goals are to raise awareness of DIPG, and to raise money to help fight this disease. 

I will be running the Cleveland Half Marathon on May 22, as part of the Prayers from Maria Sunflower Striders team.  I am hoping to raise money to help support research that will once and for all defeat childhood brain cancer.  In 2017,  Prayers from Maria awarded the Josh Metzger Memorial Fox Trot Grant to the Case Western Reserve University of Medicine.https://case.edu/medicine/about/newsroom/our-latest-news/new-research-aims-improve-lives-children-high-grade-glioma
