My Story…
“You always have a choice. Even if you don’t like the options…you always gave a choice, Angela.” This is some of my dad’s advice that has stuck with me. That and, before you need to make a big purchase its best you have a shot or 2 of Crown Royal. And yes, while I do hate races, and I do hate running, there is more than one way to get through a 5K. So this year, I have made the choice to show my dedication to ENDING CTE by “running” the Cleveland 5k, in my roller skates, in the world’s largest indoor roller rink, Guptill’s in upstate NY.
Keeping my dad’s spirit and memory alive is something I will never let go of…in the same way that I will skate my heart out to help stop the deadly impact of CTE. Stopping this devastating disease hinges on research. And that sh*t ain’t free. So, I am asking you to sponsor my mediocre roller skating in an effort to have a monumental impact on the future of degenerative brain disease. And just know, in exchange for you stepping up and making a donation, my dad is saving a beer for you somewhere in the great beyond.

Description
CTE is a degenerative brain disease that has devastated the lives of contact sport athletes and military Veterans. The Concussion Legacy Foundation is leading the fight to End CTE through prevention, research, and education.
Runners are raising funds for programs like:
- The CLF Global Brain Bank, a network of experts at Boston University and in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and Brazil working to learn how to diagnose and treat CTE.
- Tackle Can Wait, which aims to prevent CTE in children.
- The CLF HelpLine, which provides 1-on-1 support for patients and caregivers battling suspected CTE.
