Double Down with Dan 

This year will mark the seventh time that I’ll participate in Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend as a proud member of Team Perley Health. In 2021, I surpassed my goal of $5,000 in pledges and raised more than $6,000. For 2022, I have doubled my fundraising target and hope to collect $10,000 in pledges. I invite you to consider doubling the amount you pledged last year so that Perley Health can provide even more life-giving support to Seniors and Veterans. I'm doubling my donation and hope you will join me.

Several years ago, I developed an aggressive and often fatal form of colon cancer. Thanks to a series of treatments, however, I am in remission and am inspired to share my good fortune with others.

Ottawa Race Weekend coincides with my 66th birthday at the end of May. The best way for me to celebrate is to walk in the 10K event. In my pocket, I will carry with me the name of each of my sponsors, along with the names of anyone they wish to honour. I know that carrying the list and honouring the wishes of my sponsors will inspire me every step of the way. I have never failed to finish a race that I’ve entered. To some, that might be a simple saying; to me, they are words to live by every single day.
